    reacHIRE is proud to partner with Ipsen for a 6 month return-to-work program starting in April 2020 designed for professionals returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals.     On behalf of our client, reacHIRE is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join Ipsen’s Financial Planning and Analysis team. The Senior Financial Analyst will support Ipsen’s North America Specialty Care business, as well as the internal financial budgeting and controllership for various Ipsen business partners. This position will provide cross functional support to enable effective financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting of operating results, leading to sound business decisions in accordance with IFRS and budget.  This position will work with our Shared Service Functions on key financial forecasting and reporting processes. There will also be extensive collaboration with business partners on ad hoc analysis requests and implementations of systems and procedures in accordance with corporate objectives.

     

    Responsibilities

    • Provide support to Business Partners assisting with annual budgeting and strategic planning processes
    • Prepare and update current year financial forecasts and analyses as required by management
    • Assist with annual budgeting process and long-range strategic planning for aligned Business Partners
    • Develop and maintain partnership with multiple functional groups and serve as a member of functional leadership teams as appropriate to provide strong financial and analytical support
    • Execute the monthly close file preparation ensuring accurate portrayal of current operations and activities (accruals, close meetings, financial reviews, etc.)
    • Review and prepare month-end journal entries, monthly financial reports and metrics and communicate them to business partners
    • Identify, interpret and communicate budget and expense variances cross functionally
    • Support Business Partners on day-to-day financial transactions and performance by reviewing and approving Purchase Orders and Contracts in line with approved budgets or forecasts
    • Communicate and coordinate with other departments (senior management and directors) on various financial issues: monthly variances to budget and contract administration
    • Support implementation of new Planning software application (TM1) across US and Canada operations

    Qualifications

    • BS in Finance, Accounting or relevant degree
    • 6+ years of experience in developing financial forecasts and strategic plans
    • MBA is preferred, CPA is a plus
    • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, including business impact modeling
    • Must have thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial statements and the interface between external reporting, management reporting
    • Prior Big 4/financial accounting experience is preferred, but is not required 
    • Solid understanding of IFRS and/or GAAP and business analytics tools including advanced Excel skills and planning systems such as SAP/Oracle, or similar
    • Ability to analyze information and resolve complex technical problems across a wide array of business functions to influence business decisions
    • Ability to navigate multiple reporting lines with differing deliverables and timelines
    • Self-starter with passion, energy, enthusiasm to drive results and affect meaningful change and process efficiencies
    • Adept at influencing without authority – able to lead/follow as required and function independently
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 
    • MS Office skills required, particularly in Excel are preferred
