*Please note that this position is expected to transition from remote to in-person sometime during the program.  Because neither reacHIRE nor T-Mobile provide relocation assistance, only local candidates, or those already planning to move to the area, will be considered. *

reacHIRE is proud to partner with T-Mobile for a 6 month return-to-work program starting in November 2020 designed for Software Quality Engineering professionals returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. Please note candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades technology and professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and develop scripts for batch process scheduling, file transfer and workload automation through the BMC Control M product 
  • Attend daily scrum meetings conveying and receiving updates to/from the team 
  • Update knowledge repositories and will eventually train team on new processes
  • Identify automated opportunities to improve performance in workload automation
  • Role will require candidate to write code approximately 20% of the time when performing automation based activities - prior background writing code in Java or Python preferred
  • Implement new processes and work with team to identify other areas of process improvement
  • Create documentation such as operational guide, backup plans, business continuance, installation procedures, and troubleshooting tips.

Qualifications

  • Two years of software development experience, with experience in quality or automation engineering required
  • Candidate should have prior background in workflow automation - designing process improvements, identifying issues, gathering requirements, etc. 
  • Prior experience writing code in Python or Java required
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Prior experience working in an agile environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
