reacHIRE is proud to partner with T-Mobile for a 6 month return-to-work program starting in November 2020 designed for Systems Architecture Engineers returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. Please note candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades technology and professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.

The System Architecture Engineer's role is to develop and evolve technical network and service architectures and design strategies to maintain, enhance, and evolve the T-Mobile Technology portfolio. 

  • Create, adapt, and  revise detailed schematics of network and service architecture, hardware and software selections, and implementation techniques and processes. 
  • Perform, evaluate, or interpret network simulation, test results, or leading edge technology studies. 
  • Develop ability to understand company system protocols, how systems operate and data flows
  • Complete appropriate network and service architecture, design strategies and standards. 
  • Understand the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete design work. 
  • Support engineering projects by active contribution to the application of engineering techniques; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations. 
  • Contribute to procedures and processes to validate and enhance and optimize network architecture. 
  • Perform validation tests and inspection techniques and effectively document results.
  • Present new ideas to  improve an existing system/process/service. 
  • Review current company architecture, design strategies, standards and processes, highlight questions, and review with mentors to explore process refinement. 
  • Proposes and evaluates new technology that may solve business problems
  • Maintains knowledge of existing technology documents, writing basic documentation on how technology works
  • Provide technical data for incorporation into internal presentations that may highlight system impact.
  • Participate in lab and field trial activities in support of Proof of Concept


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of technical experience in engineering or data analytics/statistics field
  • Proficiency in extracting and visualizing data using tools such as SQL, Tableau, Python
  • Technical documentation and presentation skills are required in order to translate complex ideas to a wide range of audiences
  • Understands system protocols, how systems operate and data flows
  • Ability to demonstrate concern and meet external and/or internal customer needs
  • Ability to tackle problems using a logical, systematic, sequential approach
  • Ability to anticipate the implications and consequences of situations and take appropriate action 

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Understanding of RF propagation principles, cellular theory, RF engineering tools and
    wireless concepts involving UMTS, LTE
  • Performance assessments of KPI trends and performing deep dive analysis to reach
    root cause
  • Prior experience with data analytics databases like Teradata, Big Data (Hadoop)
