reacHIRE is proud to partner with T-Mobile for a 6 month return-to-work program starting in November 2020 designed for Automation Software Engineering professionals returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. Please note candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades technology and professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.

As a software developer, you work to tackle problems as T-Mobile continues to push technology forward. In this role, you will design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions. The team operates in a fast-paced environment using agile methodology and lightweight SOA design patterns. They encourage innovation and expect developers to take a high level of ownership throughout the software life cycle.


  • Design and build services using J2EE Framework.
  • Design and develop internal and external business systems/applications, systems interfaces, databases, reporting, or business functionality.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into documented technical specifications.
  • Design and develop applications using Object Oriented Analysis and Design (OOAD).
  • Code new system functionality per technical specs, with deliverables to include code builds and automated unit tests.
  • Conduct load testing in order to analyze load test results.
  • Develop telecommunications applications, with real-time and batch transaction processing.
  • Participate in reviews (walkthroughs) of technical specifications and program code with team members


  • Bachelor's Degree Computer Science or related field
  • 3-5 years Technical engineering experience
  • Prior experience designing and developing using Java Enterprise (J2EE) is required.
  • Seasoned operational understanding of Linux and scripting
  • Working knowledge of CI/CD and other build pipeline technologies


Nice to Have Skills:

  • Prior background with Agile (SCRUM), RESTful/SOAP web services, Unix/Linux, database technologies
  • Experience designing and developing applications using Spring Model View Controller (MVC), Spring Boot is a plus.
  • Knowledge of best practices for Software Development life cycle (SDLC) & DevOps methodologies
  • Experience with Agile (SCRUM), RESTful/SOAP web services, Unix/Linux, database technologies
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools
  • Experience with deploying applications on distributed environments like Docker, Kubernetes etc.
