*Please note that this position is expected to transition from remote to in-person sometime during the program.  Because neither reacHIRE nor T-Mobile provide relocation assistance, only local candidates, or those already planning to move to the area, will be considered. *

reacHIRE is proud to partner with T-Mobile for a 6 month return-to-work program starting in November 2020 designed for Software Engineers returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. Please note candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades technology and professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will work with a team of other software developers and network and systems engineers to design, implement, and deploy software which meet customer's requirements, scales easily, removes the limitations of traditional networking solutions, and supports deployment in highly available environments. The engineer will participate in architecture and design of various software components focused on creating applications that leverage technologies such as virtualization, micro services, SDN, NFV, and Big Data platforms and technologies. 

 

  • Understand system protocols, how systems operate and data flows. 
  • Understand the building blocks, interactions, dependencies, and tools required to complete software and automation work.
  • Interact with system engineers to define system requirements and/or necessary requirements for automation.
  • Support engineering projects by developing software solutions; conducting tests and inspections; preparing reports and calculations. 
  • Share new ideas which utilize new frameworks to improve an existing system/process/service. 
  • Review current company processes to highlight questions that may drive process refinement.
  • Maintain knowledge of existing technology documents and write basic documentation on how technology works. 
  • Document systems designs, presentations, and business requirements for consumption at the engineer level.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
  • 2-4 years prior technical engineering experience
  • Prior background with applying scripting and relationship database knowledge to different types of automation
  • Ability to think outside of the box to bring exciting ideas to team members
  • Ability to prioritize work after receiving detailed instructions, working with supervised guidance.
