Overview

*Please note that this position is expected to transition from remote to in-person sometime during the program.  Because neither reacHIRE nor T-Mobile provide relocation assistance, only local candidates, or those already planning to move to the area, will be considered. *

reacHIRE is proud to partner with T-Mobile for a 6 month return-to-work program starting in November 2020 designed for Software Engineers returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. Please note candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades technology and professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.

Responsibilities

The Software Engineer will be supporting various Device Financing projects. This position will work very closely with Leadership, Architects, and DevOps team members to build out capabilities for Device Financing , exposing capabilities to other enterprise systems via APIs and Micro services. 

 

  • Translate business and functional requirements into documented technical specifications.
  • Utilize development skills to build (code) and unit test functionality per technical specifications, with deliverables to include code builds and documented unit test results.
  • Build and unit test production deployment packages with an eye towards automated regression and automated unit test scripts, and implementation plans for scheduled systems enhancements.
  • Participate in walk-throughs with team of technical specifications and program code, communicating design, requirements, feature set, functionality and limitations of systems/applications
  • Implement, maintain, and improve Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes, tools, and environments.
  • Implement appropriate operational monitors; proactively identifying system issues
  • Contribute to and work to meet project schedules by providing accurate estimates of effort required for development of deliverables
  • Collaborate/Partner with other teams including Enterprise Testing, Release Planning and Management, Business Stakeholders and Project Management on successful delivery of product enhancements and support.
  • Design, develop and implement Micro services and Restful APIs.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting APIs and micro services required.
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental testing and deployment.
  • Familiarity with Artifactory, Gitlab, Jenkins, Docker, Maven, Puppet, and Splunk.
  • Knowledge of Cloud native application development, preferably with Pivotal Cloud Foundry
  • Java Spring Boot experience required
  • Ability to transform the systems to enable with CI/CD processes, test automation preferred
  • Experienced in agile methodologies and familiarity with tools like Jira
