reacHIRE is proud to partner with T-Mobile for a 6 month return-to-work program starting in November 2020 designed for Senior Automation Engineering professionals returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. Please note candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades technology and professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.

The Senior Automation Engineer’s role is to design and build automation solutions and subsequently validate and deploy the solutions to help with validation and testing for T-Mobile Engineering Network and Systems. 


  • Ensure that the delivered automation design and programming/scripting components provide the necessary automation functionality and perform in accordance to the overall engineering requirements and to the business expectation. 
  • Deliver / deploy automation of engineering platforms and services 
  • Responsible for End to End automation for validation of test cases in Quality assurance teams, in all phases of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).  
  • Development of tools may be required in order to most efficiently solve technical or engineering challenges including technology evolution, capacity management, and performance optimization. 
  • Technical documentation and presentation skills will be necessary to convey design benefits to a wide range of audiences. 
  • Ability to understand system protocols, how systems operate and data flows. 
  • If candidate has the ability to design, write and deliver software code in Python or Java, they may be asked to help to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of automation .
  • Work cross-functionally with Engineering QA, Handset QA teams, System design and other stakeholders to implement automation strategies to certify new products and services with focus on quality and time to market. 
  • Contribute to designs and implement new ideas which improve existing and new automation for a system/process/service. 
  • Collaborate with technical teams and utilize system expertise to deliver automation solutions. 
  • Responsible for building automation scripting code solutions for lab testing, certification, and engineering conformance of the interworking nodes. 


  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related field 
  • 2+ Years as a Programmer and/ or developer with a strong programming and coding skillset in Python or Java. 
  • Please note that candidates with 4+ years may be qualified for a senior title for this role, depending on their experience level prior to their career break
  • Should have prior experience working in automation environments with continuous integration and development (CI/CD) methodologies
  • Prior hands-on coding experience developing and designing software and/or responsive web-based solutions (adaptive design)
  • Solid understanding of software development frameworks, architecture concepts and terminology
  • Prior exposure to tools such as Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Git, SVN etc. desired
  • Prior background working with database concepts(RDBMS) and directory access protocols(LDAP) necessary
  • Experience with UI frameworks and technologies (Angular JS, D3, Bootstrap) nice to have 
  • Experience working with reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau nice to have
  • Hands on experience in wireless/telecom is desirable but not required
