reacHIRE is proud to partner with Wayfair for a 6-month return-to-work program starting in July 2021 designed for professionals who are returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. Wayfair is hiring for a Product Manager, Pricing Algorithms to join their team!


Candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades technology and professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.


Note that some of the responsibilities and areas of expertise listed below represent performance expectations to be met or skills to be gained by the end of the 6-month program. The Wayfair Return-to-Work program is designed to help candidates on-ramp and upskill. We encourage all candidates with applicable prior experience to apply!


Wayfair’s Pricing Algorithms Product team is responsible for determining how we set retail prices for our catalog of 10M+ products leveraging cutting edge algorithms and economic theory. The team powers a dynamic pricing engine at the core of one of the fastest growing e-commerce companies. Our goal is to use price to optimize for long term profitability, drive efficient trade-offs between revenue and profit, and manage price perception of our customers. We leverage continuous experimentation, a modern tech stack, best-in-class modeling approaches, and economic theory to build a scalable, dynamic, and flexible platform. 


  • You will be part of a team that establishes the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for algorithmic pricing at Wayfair
  • Partner with key stakeholders across Engineering, Data Science, and Business Teams (Category Management, Promotions, etc) to develop a cohesive strategy to make Pricing work across a variety of customer and business problems
  • Assist team with the development and maintenance of  a technology platform roadmap and disseminate regular updates to key stakeholders.
  • Utilize data to understand the scope, impact, and priority of our business objectives, and enable the team to transform that knowledge into product enhancements and new features.
  • Help to drive and deliver business impact through delivery of new and improved algorithms being brought to production that improve our pricing strategy - examples include predicting customer response to price changes, promotional pricing, and modeling competitor behavior


  • 3+ years of product management experience, preferably in an Agile environment 
  • Bachelor’s degree in either a technology or business discipline.
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated experience turning data into actionable insights while understanding business strategy and metrics.
  • Strongly collaborative and effective in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to think strategically, and tactically while managing through ambiguity, adversity and conflict to establish focus and deliver against business goals.
  • Proficient and comfortable with SQL or other relational database query languages.
  • Interest in learning about advanced machine learning / AI / algorithms

Example initiatives you will be part of:

  • Partner with Data Science and Engineering to deliver improvements to our Market Price product, an algorithm that provides insight into what our competitors are charging for similar products, and how that affects customer demand
  • Develop an approach for how we account for nuance in customer demand for seasonal products (e.g. outdoor furniture, christmas trees) throughout the year
