reacHIRE is proud to partner with Citi’s Personal Banking & Wealth Management (PBWM) organization for a paid 6-month return-to-work program starting in July 2022 designed for risk managers who are returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. 

The program is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. The program involves a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce, and continues with professional development workshops and networking opportunities to build and advance one’s professional skill set throughout the duration of the program. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence, and upgrades professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career. Please note candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity.


About the Team

The financial crimes environment continues to be challenging, with cybercrime worldwide remaining highly lucrative and criminals becoming more organized and sophisticated, making it harder to distinguish between real customers and bad actors. To combat the agile threat, Citi’s PBWM Fraud Prevention organization operates leveraging an intelligence-led, threat driven model that targets fraud along the entire fraud lifecycle, enabling the integration of analysis, dissemination of information and coordination of action with speed and agility across businesses and regions.


About the Role

The Fraud Risk Policy Officer role stays abreast of new developments, capabilities, and emerging threats in the fraud prevention space, and provides expertise and guidance in the establishment of policies and fraud prevention strategies to support business objectives and combat the evolving threat. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the end-to-end management of fraud policy and strategy pertaining to specific product, portfolio and/or channel (phone, online, mobile, etc.). 
  • Leverage data and internal/external intelligence to derive patterns, trends and insights, and perform risk/reward trade-off analysis to design and develop fraud strategies, while ensuring adherence to policy and requirements.
  • Continually evolve fraud policy and prevention and detection capabilities, in partnership with business/product owners, IT, analytics and operations teams to effectively mitigate the evolving threat while balancing customer experience and fraud loss. 
  • Effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to project manage small deliverables to large scale infrastructure initiatives, driving to successful implementation.
  • Generate and manage regular and ad-hoc reporting to enable effective monitoring and identification of emerging trends.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in business management, finance, accounting, economics, criminal justice, statistics, engineering, or other relevant discipline.
  • 5+ years experience in fraud or risk management or relevant field.
  • Strong analytic skills, with ability to derive patterns, trends and insights.
  • Effective cross-functional project, resource, and stakeholder engagement and management, with ability to drive collaboration across teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to connect findings to business impacts; comfortable presenting to a wide array of audiences.
  • Extremely detail-oriented; intellectual curiosity.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident or possess other unrestricted U.S. work authorization and will not require sponsorship for U.S. work authorization now or anytime in the future.
