reacHIRE is proud to partner with Citi’s Personal Banking & Wealth Management (PBWM) organization for a paid 6-month return-to-work program starting in July 2022 designed for experienced professionals who are returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. 

The program is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. The program involves a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce, and continues with professional development workshops and networking opportunities to build and advance one’s professional skill set throughout the duration of the program. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence, and upgrades professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career. Please note candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity.

About the Role

The CRS Business Operations Department is seeking an individual with operational risk and/or process improvement experience to manage and oversee governance issues that arise within the department and to lead initiatives that are consistent with the safe and sound operations of the department. In this role, an individual will need to demonstrate strong business acumen, and over time develop an understanding of system infrastructure and processes so as to drive sustainable solutions, develop creative solutions, and provide check and challenge to ensure risk mitigation is achieved to avoid recurring issues.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and implementation of enterprise-wide standards and strategies to strengthen and enhance the Manager’s Control Assessment (MCA) program for Citi Retail Services Business Operations.
  • Develop thorough understanding of the risk and control environment, available tools, and resources; over time, provide guidance to business partners to improve process effectiveness through simplification, automation, and proactive identification.
  • Contribute to the creation of project documentation to support governance related activities such as creating business requirements, project plans, decision documentation, testing documentation, as well as process and procedural materials.
  • Accountable for staying informed of new policies and procedures across the Global Consumer Bank.
  • Project management disciplines and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Develop strong understanding of regulatory requirements and ensure adherence through standards, strategies, controls, and project deliverables.
  • Understand critical data processes and technology components within Business Operations; identify and document critical gaps and/or opportunities.
  • Develop strong, trust-based relationships with critical internal business partners, including Technology, Collections, Customer Service, Marketing, Audit, Compliance, Risk, Legal, Partner Management, and Finance.


  • Bachelor's degree or relevant business experience in Business, Technology, or a quantitative discipline.
  • 4-5 years of experience in Financial Services and/or IT function in a large, matrixed organization; Credit Card, Private Label Credit, and/or Operational Risk preferred.
  • Experience in system analysis and writing business and functional specifications.
  • Demonstrated history of attention to detail and process orientation, with the ability to understand complex, multi-faceted systems and processes.
  • Strong problem solving skills to proactively address business questions and the ability to understand trade-offs and impacts, as well as business process reengineering.
  • Strong team player with ability to partner across multiple, disparate internal business groups and cross-functional teams to successfully deliver client needs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to present ideas to audiences at all levels internally and externally.
  • Preferred candidates will have an understanding of credit card data and credit card systems; knowledge of FISERV or a mainframe environment; experience in process management and process automation; and/or knowledge of the consumer financial services regulatory environment.
