Overview

reacHIRE is proud to partner with Ameren for a paid 6 month return-to-work program starting in October 2022 designed for individuals who are returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. 

 

Candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades technology and professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.

 

Please note: Some of the responsibilities and areas of expertise listed below represent performance expectations to be met by the end of the 6-month program. Ameren's Bright Return program is designed to get you back to work with a supported onramp. We encourage all candidates with prior relevant experience in a similar role to apply!

Responsibilities

About the Position

The Market Intelligence Senior Analyst supports the supply chain function with the assessment and management of the costs of equipment and services procured by Ameren. The Senior Analyst works with the Procurement teams in the development and analysis of cost models for major capital equipment, materials, and services utilized by all Ameren companies. The Senior Analyst will support the Market Intelligence team leads in ensuring the accuracy of cost models used by the procurement team in category strategies, capital planning and budgeting, negotiations, and contract structures.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Works independently, with guidance as needed from the Market Intelligence Manager and Specialist for analyses and tasks, utilizes skills in clean sheet cost modeling and data analysis to assist in the development of should costs for projects and procurement team. For complex models and analyses, assist the Market Intelligence team in the development and management of cost structures at the category, equipment, or service level. 
  • Assists in the development of cost modeling and analysis by collaborating with sourcing teams on large construction projects, major capital equipment, high spend commodities and services sourcing events.
  • Uses data analysis techniques and templates to model quantitative information from various market data sources.
  • Research cost drivers such as production time, materials, and labor for Ameren goods and services.
  • Share and communicate cost models to be used for budgeting and capital project costing to internal supply chain users.
  • Assist market intelligence team to update and maintain existing cost models.
  • Monitor and analyze prices, indexes, material costs, labor mark-ups and other important factors for changes and trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in an analytical discipline (e.g., Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Construction Management, etc.). 
  • MBA or other related graduate degree preferred.  
  • Three or more years of directly relevant work experience in cost estimating, purchasing, consulting, cost accounting, or finance required. 
  • Candidates with an advanced degree will be considered with one or more years of experience.
  • Successful candidates will have quantitative financial or economic modeling experience.

 

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

 

  • Strong analytical and communication skills, detailed oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously using time management skills.  
  • Must possess excellent math skills. 
  • Thorough understanding of Ameren's systems applications (i.e. Oracle) preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite with an emphasis on strong to advanced Excel skills required
