Overview

reacHIRE is proud to partner with Ameren for a paid 6 month return-to-work program starting in October 2022 designed for individuals who are returning to the workforce after a 2+ year career break. 

 

Candidates who have worked in part-time roles or have done independent contracting will be considered for this opportunity. It is a cohort-based model that allows individuals to re-enter the workforce in a supported way with a group of fellow returning professionals. We provide a one-week intensive onboarding specially designed to build the skills needed to successfully re-enter the workforce. This proven approach fosters camaraderie among colleagues, builds confidence and upgrades technology and professional skills that will be invaluable throughout this next phase of their career.

 

Please note: Some of the responsibilities and areas of expertise listed below represent performance expectations to be met by the end of the 6-month program. Ameren's Bright Return program is designed to get you back to work with a supported onramp. We encourage all candidates with prior relevant experience in a similar role to apply!

Responsibilities

Fully proficient, with considerable job-related experience, accomplishing varied atypical assignments with limited guidance. Provides informal leadership to less experienced colleagues. 

  • Configure & installs new Windows & Linux servers, both physical & virtual. Performs system upgrades, configures systems, evaluates and installs patches, and resolves complex problems. 
  • Coordinates with appropriate team(s) to apply software updates. 
  • Monitors system configuration and automation scripts to ensure system stability. 
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of scripts to facilitate network administrative tasks and automate repetitive processes.
  • Participates in the development of system backups and recovery processes. 
  • Participates in the design of disaster/system recovery and testing, when applicable.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge in the following technical areas preferred:
    • Infrastructure, operating systems, specialized systems administration. 
    • Current system administration tools and scripting languages. 
    • System backup, recovery and storage administration. 

 

  • Bachelors degree preferred/Associates degree required, preferably in computer science or related field. Will consider candidates without a degree if they show/demonstrate having 5+ years equivalent, relevant experience in tools, systems, and initiatives leveraged by customer. 
  • Certification in Comptia A+ and/or Comptia Network+ preferred.
