**Ameren will consider applicants who currently reside within the company's Missouri or Illinois service territory.**

Responsibilities

What You’ll Contribute Day-to-Day:

Under direct but not constant supervision, exercising a high degree of independent judgment and skill on problems of an introductory nature with a focus of moving towards increasing complexity and confidentiality, to participate in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications.

 

  • Provide programming and related expertise within an assigned business unit/area, usually as a member of a project team, in the analysis, design and development of business applications
  • Provide technical consulting support on project or system issues
  • Develop or modify application programs from detailed specifications; Develop and maintain application interfaces, reports, conversion programs, and custom functionality
  • Code, test, debug, and document programs; Identify conflicting business practices and integration issues
  • Monitor and report to management or other assigned project leaders on the status of project efforts, anticipating/identifying issues that inhibit the attainment of project goals and implementing corrective actions
  • Develop business relationships and integrate activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts. 
  • Foster and maintain good relationships with customers and IT colleagues to meet expected customer service levels
  • To the extent of knowledge and abilities, prepare detailed specifications from which programs may be written and ensure production and quality of applications meets specifications of operational schedules and business activities
  • Special assignments, both recurring and non-recurring, in connection with IT operations

Qualifications

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have:

  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or equivalent computer related degree from an accredited college or university, with a minimum of 12 credit hours in computer programming and analysis/design courses required, AND an acceptable score on a Company-selected aptitude test

It's An Added Bonus If You Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business Administration, Mathematics, or equivalent computer related degree from an accredited college or university
