Responsibilities

Responsible for technical functions in support of engineering activities such as knowledge of techniques and ability to assist in design, test, debug, modification, fabrication and assembly of electromechanical systems, circuitry or specialized test equipment.

 

What You'll Contribute Day-to-Day: 

  • Fabricate small assemblies and cables.
  • Build breadboard prototypes from a raw schematic.
  • Assemble and test new designs using standard test DVM’s, Oscilloscopes, signal generators and other standard test equipment as required.
  • Create test plans and conduct electrical & temperature testing using lab & in house test equipment or products in development.
  • Modify equipment for experiments to improve design.
  • Evaluate units under standard test conditions.
  • Document test.
  • Perform repairs and provide failure analysis.
  • Modify circuits and systems.
  • Work from raw schematics, to perform testing, trouble-shoot.
  • Document projects provide support and input to assist in development process and continuous improvement of existing products.
  • Suggest changes in design to improve functionality and long-term reliability to engineers in response to test results.
  • Responsibility for Firmware DVT to provide excellent product performance.
  • Errors in firmware design verification tests could adversely affect the end-user, our customers, by poor product performance.
  • Access to confidential information as it relates to the process of design and existing products.
  • Purchase competitor’s units for evaluation and testing.
  • Assemble benches and other equipment for the work area as needed.
  • Purchase tools and equipment as necessary
  • Provide technical support to other technicians.

Qualifications

You’ll Be a Great Fit If You Have:

  • Associate ET degree or equivalent
  • Experience as a power supply control electronics (microprocessors) technician with analog/power circuits background
  • Understanding of hardware, software and firmware interactions
  • Knowledge of standard test procedures and test equipment
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Analytical and Problem-solving abilities
  • Good organizational skills; commitment to task
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to cope with changing priorities.
  • Ability to be attentive to all aspects of the environment while working.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize.
  • Exposure to risk of electrical shock
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, talk/listen; good manual dexterity.
  • Ability for close, distance and color vision as well as depth perception
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs

It's An Added Bonus If You Have:

  • Knowledge of Labview and View draw preferred
