Responsibilities

Overview: 

 

Oversee and coordinate multiple projects and other strategic initiatives by supporting the successful planning, execution and delivery, in alignment with long-term company/business unit goals & priorities.

 

What You’ll Contribute Day-to-Day:

  • Manage multiple projects using Fidelity and industry-accepted methodologies.
  • May assemble and lead a team of project managers or analysts in the successful delivery of projects.
  • Establish project plans that ensure alignment of people, processes, and technology.
  • Align stakeholders on direction for product or solution delivery and ensure prioritization to deliver customer needs and requirements.
  • Provide insight into process improvement opportunities and removal of impediments to deliver customer needs and requirements.
  • Identify goals and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Manage and track products or solutions against predetermined goals, timeline, budget and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Identify, track, communicate and facilitate resolution of program risks and issues.
  • Manage relationships with customers and internal partners.
  • Develop cost model, identify budget and manage spend.
  • Manage vendor relationships.

Qualifications

  • Project Controlling and Reporting: Sets up a project control process to effectively monitor cost and schedule, as things shift and evolve throughout the project life cycle.
  • Project Management Methodologies and Frameworks: Applies frameworks and methodologies (e.g., Agile, SCRUM, Lean, Six Sigma, Waterfall, Kanban, etc.) throughout a project's lifecycle. Provides structure to the way a project is delivered by applying principles, themes, frameworks, processes, and standards.
  • Project Management Tools and Solutions: Uses technology and tools (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana, Trello, ProofHub, Basecamp, and ClickUp) to plan and manage the full project lifecycle.
  • Project Recovery: Turns around a poorly performing project and team by managing the quadruple constraints of time, cost, scope, and quality.
  • Risk Assessment: Monitors potential risks to the organization on a continuous basis. Alerts the organization of emerging risks that could impact the organization's ability to conduct business.
  • Statement-of-work (SOW): Designs and details a statement-of-work (SOW) defining all project aspects (e.g., project activities, deliverables, timetables, and schedules). A statement-of-work forms the groundwork of a project.
  • Effective Communication: Presents with excellent verbal and written skills. Shares relevant knowledge and information and listens to understand others.
  • Problem Solving: Leverages knowledge, previous experience, and skills to identify the crux of an issue and creates a workable solution to resolve problems. Understands verbal or numerical information and how to make reasoned decisions based on this analysis.
  • Agility: Responds to new circumstances and challenges in a quick and effective manner. Adjusts response to the situation or interaction based on its evolving nature. Makes on-the-spot decisions.
  • Critical Thinking: Makes correct inferences on complex problems that require critical evaluation. Understands a situation or problem by identifying patterns or connections and addressing key underlying issues and drives decision making. Sees the bigger picture and connects the dots across Fidelity.
  • Customer Centricity: Establishes effective relationships with either internal or external customers to understand their needs. Displays a customer service orientation when interacting with others. Is patient, calm, and tolerant in difficult situations.
  • Influencing Others: Gains support and commitment from others through being diplomatic and using tact to achieve outcomes. Persuades and impacts the thoughts and actions of others. Gains support for ideas, proposals, projects, and solutions.
  • Planning and Organizing: Sets clearly defined objectives. Identifies and organizes deployment of resources based on assessed need and takes into account possible changing circumstances. Monitors team’s performance in meeting the assigned deadlines and milestones.
  • Program Management: Oversees various projects and project managers. Serves as strategic visionary. Sets direction and objectives for all projects under their management. Manages the relationships with key stakeholders involved in these various projects.
  • Risk Management: Identifies, forecasts, and evaluates risks and navigates a way to avoid or limit their impact.
  • Solution Oriented Outcomes: Proactively identifies opportunities and takes action to drive improvements that add value to business outcomes. Optimally aligns and coordinates resources that allows the organization to achieve desired business objectives.
